History & heritage
Pierrevert lies at the heart of the Pierrevert AOC, the only vineyard in the department with a protected designation of origin (AOC), recognised as a VDQS in 1959 and then as an AOC in 1998. The wine cooperative was founded in 1925 by Auguste Bastide. The Luberon golf course, which opened in 1988, is now a feature of the local landscape.

The village is spread out across the vineyard-covered hillsides a few kilometres south-west of Manosque, on the edge of the Luberon.
